PRINCE2™ CUSTOMISATION PROCESS

Rational Management has worked with a wide range of organisations, some large and some small, who have recognised the benefits of a project management methodology but need to size it and tailor it to align with their unique projects.

Customisation includes:

• Process mapping to identify existing processes and their integration with PRINCE2™ processes, including the elimination of duplication.
• Development of a project sizing tool to define what are small, medium and large projects, and what are not projects - usually conducted through a workshop session.
• Tailoring of document templates to suit the organisation and scaling these to match the needs of small, medium and large projects - usually conducted through a workshop session.
• Development of a project management glossary of terms to ensure understanding.
• Development of the organisation’s own Project Handbook (how we apply PRINCE here).
• Implementation of the customised methodology within the project support office and project management software tools.

The end result of customisation is a better “fit” between the needs of the organisation and the selected project management method. It also enhances ownership by the project teams.
