PRINCE2™ REFRESHER WORKSHOP

Recommended for: Project Managers, Team Leaders, Project Teams who may have previously undertaken a PRINCE2™ course but need to refresh and update their skills.

Purpose: There are three primary reasons for participating in this workshop:

• Over time it is possible that Project Managers and teams may not recall all of the valuable elements of PRINCE2™ fully. This workshop has includes a short revision session.
• PRINCE2™ is updated by the OGC every 2 years (most recent update was November 2005). The workshop explains any recent changes.
• The workshop format enables a flexible discussion on any PRINCE2™ topic and guidance on areas where difficulties or problems in implementation may be evident.

The workshop is designed to:

• Refresh and update participants on the current version of the PRINCE2™ Project Management Methodology
• Encourage discussion on the application of the methodology (including any specific topics) and resolve any identified difficulties or problems

Composition:

• An overview of PRINCE2™ Processes, Components and Techniques
• An update on the changes released in the latest version of PRINCE2™ and how they might be applied
• An open forum session that discusses the detailed aspect of any PRINCE2™ elements nominated by the participants or their organization (within the time available)
• A structured discussion on common mistakes in applying PRINCE2™

Format & Presentation: This workshop is delivered over one day and is a blend of instruction through lectures and audio-visual presentations and detailed discussion with the participants. Participants receive workshop notes and course segment materials relevant to the topics nominated.

Derivation: This workshop is derived from Rational Management's fully accredited PRINCE2™ Project Management Methodology Course (3 days) and learnings distilled from practical applications of PRINCE2. It therefore does not cover the full curriculum and is not an accredited course. Participants seeking PRINCE2™ qualifications may register for the PRINCE2™ Foundation Revision and Exam (1 day) and later the PRINCE2™ Practitioner Revision and Exam (1 day).

Benefits: Through updating and refreshing themselves on the current version of PRINCE2™ the participants can resolve any difficulties or gaps in knowledge and be confident that they are effectively applying PRINCE2™.
